Another WGW is over and I'm back at work again. But at least we had an excellent time. As usual, I made my way there with Andy (cyberdruid) and Cat. However, this time, we also had Leanne and her sister Louise along with us. And Cat's best chum Kate was along for the ride. That image over at the side shows the lot of us heading out on Friday night towards the Pavillion.
The weekend kept approximately to the usual plan of meeting up on Thursday and heading off to the Elsinore for a wee tipple. It's always comforting to walk along the road towards the Elsinore and see the huge crowd of goth sorts milling in the street outside. At last we were amongst our kind. Or something like that.
Friday night is the first proper night of the WGW event. Or at least it's the first club night at the Pavillion. Obviously this means that there should be serious preparations made for the evening. Andy is usually the expert in these situations. As can be seen on the right, he spent some time prior to going out sorting out Kate and Cat's hair as both had purchased peculiar extension-type things at the bizarre bazar during the day.
After Andy's ministrations, Cat and Kate were eventually ready to face the world!
So somewere around 9pm, we made our way across to the pavillion. Fortunately, we were staying in a lovely cottage within walking distance of the Pavillion, so it didn't take us long to get there. And we were ready to do our thing. Or at least Andy and myself were in the mood for a bit of amusement!
I was wearing my pinstripe tails which I had purchased specially for the occasion. The pinstripe bondage trousers have been a part of my regular gothic wardrobe for a few years now. Well, working for a bank, the pinstripe thing is something of a prerequisite! It's a shame that I didn't get a photo of Cat's pinstripe skirt which is very nice and which is also worn because she too is a fellow bank worker. And they say you won't find goths working in such environments as banks ... but we are there ... we are everywhere!
And so we partied the night away in the pavillion performing much dancing and consuming much alcohol.
Friday and Saturday evenings were spent at the pavillion for the main organised events with masses of goths dressed in all manner of outfits. Unfortunately, despite having a digital camera with me, I just didn't get around to taking many photos. But I should soon have them online once I have got my arse in gear. To make up for this lack of photographic effort, I'll keep an eye out and hopefully link to a few of the inevitable online galeries that should be cropping up shortly. It seemed that everyone there had a digital camera with them, so I'm sure there will be something on offer.
And of course at the end of each evening we are somewhat knackered, but here is what I believe to be a fairly typical pose of Andy and myself when together. The girlfriends seem to moan about it a great deal, but for whatever reason, we always seem to be giggling away like a pair of infants! It would appear that we failed to finish our drinks in the venue and managed to sneak them home after a night of drunken bouncing around.
