A weekend in the Lake District
Most years, a number of us head up to the Lake District for a weekend in "Will's field" ... so called because it is our friend Will's dad's field. For the moment, this only covers the visit in 1997, but I do intend to update the page with more recent and future jaunts.
August 1997Okay, so it wasn't that recent ... it was 1997, but I only just got the photos developed. sorry if the quality isn't too great, but I don't have a scanner at hand so I have just taken snapshots of the prints with my digital camera.

There is even a shed to make life bearable during bad weather.
Another nice thing about Will's field is that it wenders its way down to Coniston Water where there is a small private beach ... which I understand is part of the property, though folks who own some properties nearby also seem to have permission to use the beach. This is my favourite place for getting a large fire goingand chilling out by the lake ... perhaps even going for a swim?

I went with a number of friends, one of whom was Gav ... who seems to be the only one to come out well in any of the piccies ... hence him being the only one to appear here :-)

Hopefully it won't be too long before we are able to go again!
